Support Program
Funding Opportunities
There are various ways to receive government grants for your own continuing education. Here, a distinction must be made between the programs of the federal government and those of the various federal states. Depending on the target group, different programs may be relevant. A very good overview of continuing education is provided by Stiftung Warentest, which lists the programs of the federal government and the individual states and their relevance for the various target groups (employees, the unemployed, people returning to work, the self-employed). In the following, some of the programs that are particularly relevant for the further education offered by the Academy of Education are briefly outlined:
1. Funding Opportunities
The Aufstiegs-BAFöG replaced the Meister-BAFöG on August 1, 2016 and is of interest to participants in our exit training courses for Freight Transport and Logistics Specialist (IHK) and Logistics Master (IHK). Here you have the possibility to receive a subsidy of 40% of the course and examination fees and, if you are interested, to take out a low-interest loan for the remaining amount. You will find further information on the website of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (https://www.aufstiegs-bafoeg.de/aufstiegsbafoeg/de/home/home_node.html).
2. Continuing Education Scholarship
You have completed your training with above-average success (87 points or better) and are under 25 years old? If so, you may be eligible for a program Continuing Education Scholarship that provides you with a budget for your personal continuing education over the next 3 years. As a rule, you will already be informed about this by your IHK after your final examination..
3. Employment Agency
If you meet the requirements, your training costs can be covered by the employment agency. The WeGebAU program ( https://web.arbeitsagentur.de/portal/metasuche/suche/information ) of the employment agency supports employees in catching up on their professional qualifications by assuming the course costs. Unemployed persons can be reintegrated into the labor market, for example, through a qualification or retraining measure. Please contact your local employment agency ( https://web.arbeitsagentur.de/portal/metasuche/suche/dienststellen#!%2540%2540%253F_afrWindowId%253Dnull%2526_afrLoop%253D11500111779372958%2526_afrWindowMode%253D0%2526_adf.ctrl-state%253Dj032ebcc5_5 ) for more information.
4. BAG Support Program
You have completed your training with above-average success (87 points or better) and are under 25 years old? If so, you may be eligible for a further education grant ( https://www.sbb-stipendien.de/weiterbildungsstipendium ), which will provide you with a budget for your personal further education over the next 3 years. As a rule, you will be informed about this by your Chamber of Industry and Commerce after your final examination.
5. Education Premium
Premium vouchers can be issued up to and including December 31, 2020. Premium vouchers can also be used for continuing education courses with event fees of more than 1,000 euros from the time the amended version of the guideline comes into force (July 1, 2017). The amount of funding will continue to be 50 percent of the event fees, up to a maximum of 500 euros.
